It's so fun to help plan weddings and I genuinely fall in love a little bit everytime with the vision my client's have for their wedding day. As I'm working with them, brainstorming design ideas, offering suggestions, ordering product then in turn designing with it and finally delivering and setting up it never fails, I end up thinking to myself... "If I could get married all over again I would do it just like this". But then the next wedding comes and the whole thing happens again and again.
When I first spoke with Kailei about her wedding and she told me it was going to be at a Frank Lloyd Wright estate home in Two Rivers, WI my I-heart-midcentury flag was raised high. I was beyond excited! When I got to The Bernard Schwartz House the day of the wedding it did not dissappoint. Not a single detail was missed in this home and the history was rich. It smelled of wood and brick and stone and well, love. Such an amazingly romantic setting for an extremely sweet couple.
But enough about architecture, we are here to talk about flowers afterall... And again, not a detail was missed. The color palette was a unique mix of purples and oranges in all shades from mauve to lavender, aubergine and rust with papaya and mango accents. I loved how we incorporated local blooms of ranunculus, lilac and smokebush with modern cymbidium orchids and striking calla lilies.
Awaiting the transfer following the ceremony the staff from Seize the Day Events and I got to enjoy a moment to sit inside this wonderful home and take it all in.
The tented reception outside was perfectly set with ivory and gray linens and then topped off by our rustic wooden boxes filled with the textured mix of blooms. Folded aspidistra leaves filled out the arrangements and added interest while the dramatic color palette and diverse floral elements came together to create something rustic yet modern.
If you are looking for a venue that is unique, outdoor, full of history and architectural glory consider the Bernard Schwartz House for your event. And don't forget to call me to do the flowers!!!
I have a feeling that this wedding was and will remain one of my favorites of all time. But I say that everytime so I can't wait to see what my future brides have in store to inspire me again and again.
